Carolyn Beeler is one of the founding members of Cross Connection and has made an indelible mark on gospel music in Knoxville. God has blessed her with a beautiful voice and songwriting ability. Several of her songs have been recorded by Cross Connection and have touched the hearts of many. Carolyn is the proud mother of two children “Nana B.” to two grandchildren, and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church
Melody Mauthe comes to the Cross Connection group by way of recently relocating to Tennessee from Georgia, where she has lived all her life, due to helping take care of her brother Mark during his illness. She has been playing & singing gospel music since her early teens & is extremely grateful & feels it is an honor to be able to use her talent for the Lord playing for the group. Having been a pastor’s daughter, she has had the privilege of being the pianist for several churches her daddy pastored & also others where she attended. She is the proud mother of two sons & is currently enjoying early retirement from AT&T after 36 years & loves spending as much time as possible with her two grandsons, lovingly known as her “dollbabies”.
Rex Taylor began playing instruments as a young teenager when he played with his family group known as The Taylor Family. He has played at Silver Dollar City (now known as Dollywood), played with Gospel Tones, and with The Valley Boys. Rex has a true talent for several instruments but his love is playing the bass guitar. He loves the Lord and accepted Christ when he was a teenager. Rex has been married to his lovely wife Karen for 24 years and they have one daughter, Olivia. In his spare he enjoys fishing and sports and currently attends Cedar Bluff Baptist Church.
Roy Mowell had previously played bass guitar with Cross Connection for over 16 years but in 2007, due to extenuating circumstances, he had to leave. Roy has since retired from work, and when he and his wife Thiresa are not traveling he has expressed a desire to play rhythm guitar for Cross Connection again and we are thrilled to have him with us every chance he gets. Roy and Thiresa have two children and five grandchildren and is a member of First Baptist Church in Concord

Adam McCown was born and raised in Knoxville Tn. He has been around gospel music his entire life being raised in church and the son of a deacon and choir director. He loves to sing for the Lord and minister to others through song. He is excited and blessed to be a part of Cross Connection and the ministry the Lord has blessed them with. He is married to his wife Lori McCown and they have two children Hadley and Houston. They are members of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church.
Mark Caldwell is no stranger to gospel music, with years of experience as pianist for several churches and quartets. God has anointed him with extraordinary musical talent. Whether he is blessing people with his Floyd Cramer style piano playing, arranging music, or writing for Cross Connection – his heart’s desire is to be a vessel for the Lord. Mark is married to Shelia, has 2 children, and 4 grandchildren. He is a member of First Church of The Nazarene in Knoxville.

Larry Maples is deeply committed to the call of God and joined Cross Connection in Sept of 2005. With his humble spirit, Larry has a heart for spreading the gospel in music, song and testimony. Having been in gospel music for many years, Larry brings with him a vast knowledge and experience that can only be a great asset to our music ministry. Larry is married to his lovely wife Sharon, who supports him whole-heartedly in his music.
Hilda Harrill began singing with Cross Connection in 2007. She comes from a musical family and has been singing gospel music most of her life. She feels so blessed to have an opportunity to help spread the gospel in song, ministering and touching people’s lives in this manner. Hilda strongly believes that it is such an honor to be able to stand and do this. She has one daughter and one granddaughter, and is a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church.
